Cut it down

Luke  13:7 Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground? This was one of the parable of Jesus Christ about a fruitless fig tree, after it was dressed for almost three years it suppose to bring forth fruit.  The owner was tired, He needed no time again to waste on a tree that gives no satisfaction to the owner, so He ordered it should be cut down, that why should it occupy space which should have  been used for something profitable.  God himself is the owner of the vine, Jesus Christ is the dresser, you are the fruitless tree... The land you occupy is the grace and mercy of God.  Fruitfulness is a must in the kingdom of God, as you have been saved into the body of Christ, you are expected to grow daily and bear fruits for Him.  Fruits of  love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance, soul wining etc are expected from you, but in

Do not love the world

1 John  2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. The world was once a perfect place to live, a place of peace and no evil, a place of joy and happiness. But after sin crept in and devil was cast into it, it became a place of sorrow, pain, death and  anguish. The god of this world the devil, try as much as possible to create a distance between us and our father the Lord God through three distinct elements... These three elements has been the tool the devil uses to fight against man in other to become an enemy of God. The three elements are well listed in the book of 1 John  2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. Lust of the flesh: Our sinful nature, dominated by sin and rebellion, is so closely tied to the physical aspect of mankind that it is called “the flesh.” Every human being

The perfect in heart will see God in action.

2 Chronicles  16:9 For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars. The God we serve is a sovereign God, who sees all and knows all,  His eyes run to and from throughout the whole earth, and nothing is hidden before Him. God sees our Labour of faith, He sees our various prayer activities, our act of love towards others, and our act of giving, yet it is only the perfect in heart that will see Him in action. God cannot be deceived, our clothed religious activities cannot block our deceptive heart from God's view. We pray without answer, we fast without response, we ask for the presence of God, but heaven is closed, not that our voices of prayers are far from His ears but our heart is far away from Him. We experience defeat daily, our prayers are not answered, we face difficulties,  problems, barrenness, fai

It is not God's Will

Jeremiah  29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. The God we serve is a God of love, and peace. He cares for His creation and will not subject anyone to suffering without a cause. Several times we tend to relate a situation in our life to the Will of God, whereas it is not. It was not the will of God for Adam and Eve to leave the garden of Eden, but they themselves choses the parth of exit through their disobedient to the will of God. How will was for them to live forever in the garden. Likewise it was not His will for the children of Israelite to become slaves in a strange land, but because of the misdeeds of Abraham, God pronounced their slave master and number of years they will serve. Prophet Jeremiah wrote a letter to the residues which were carried away to babylon, according to the words of God. He affirm God's word that the thoughts He had for them were of peace and not of evil. m

The reward of obedience

Joshua  22:4 And now the LORD your God hath given rest unto your brethren, as he promised them: therefore now return ye, and get you unto your tents, and unto the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave you on the other side Jordan. God promised Abraham to give his generation a land as their possession, a country that flows with milk and honey, a country that will be their heritage forever.  It could have been fulfilled faster than expected, but sin made the promises of God be prolonged. The children of israelite became slaves for four hundred years and more, yet God still stand on His promises  With a mighty hand He brought them out, and set them on the journey to the promise land, which initially should take forty days, but due to disobedience, it took them forty years.  Finally God brought them to the land, as promised, and gave unto them as inheritance through Joshua moses' successor.  Joshua called on the Reubenites, Gadites and parth of Manasseh to a

Unconfessed sin can lead you to Hell

Revelation  21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Our God is a great God, He loves us so much that He  willingly gave up His only son for the ransom of the whole world Our first life of righteousness was condemned to sin due to our disobedience to Him.. But eternal and righteous life was again bought for us through the sacrificial death of Christ on the cross. Many Christians accepted Christ as Lord and personal saviour, they, at thet instance confessed their sins and began to walk in the newness of life. But at some point of their life they derailed and sin against God, due to their position in the church and society, "influential life" of a believer, and an act of religiosity, they fail to confess their secret sins... These does not in anyway stop them to appear "godly"

The judgment of God is without Exception

Romans  2:11 For there is no respect of persons with God. In my walk with God and ministry and study of His word in recent years, I have seen many personalities whom God worked with and have very deep intimacy with... Some in their relationship with God even speak with God like brother to brother just like it was in the garden of Eden... But in all these, God didn't spare anyone who sin against Him, either through disobedience, or misuse of His grace upon them. Also in our generation I have seen many "Men of God", "fire branded" brothers and sister who boast of their relationship with God and His grace upon them... 'it's all well and good' But when it comes to them committing one sin or the other, making mistakes against the words and commands of God, people tend to say 'respect the anointing on his head', 'Respect grace' or "the grace of God on his head can disgrace you" even when the person in question is sinking in sin...

The kiss of betrayer

Matthew  26:48 Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast. Judas was one of the twelve disciples Jesus Christ selected by himself for the work of the Gospel, enrolled them in training, sent them out for practicals, eat, sleep and pray with them on several occasions. But the affectionate relationship between him and Christ could not overpowered his love for money. He sought to reveal who Christ was to the enemy, because it was very difficult to identify Jesus Christ among the disciple because they do things together, dress in the same pattern etc. No other way than through kissing, the kiss was a customary form of affectionate greeting among the Jews. Judas used such to identify Jesus. The kiss of betrayal doesn't come from enemies, they actually come from best friends, family members, trusted co-workers, treated business partners etc. At one point in life, betrayers cannot be avoided, they will love money more than you

Your presence should be His presence

Luke  1:41 And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost: Mary mother of our Lord Jesus Christ had just received the word, from the angel and the word became a seed in her womb and she was filled with the holy spirit.  She went to the house of Zechariah to tell of the goodness of God to Elizabeth, at the instance of her presence, the holy Ghost fell upon Elizabeth, both the mother and child testify to God.  As a believer in Christ, renewed, baptised with both water and spirit, you carry the presence of God in you through Jesus Christ.  Wherever you go to, wherever you step on, there must be a confirmation of the presence of the Lord Himself.  Your presence should bring joy, happiness, liberty, grace, healing and solutions to people's problem., because Jesus Himself lives in you.  But what happen when people see you today... Instead of seeing the fullness of Christ, all they see is go

Out of God's sight

Genesis  3:9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?  3:10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. Adam and Eve had eaten from the forbidden fruit which the Lord commanded them not to eat from... Just as the custom of the Lord to come visiting man at the cool of the evening, He could not receive a worm welcome from Adam as before. Lo, Sin had made Adam to hide himself from the Lord because of shame and guilt. Nevertheless, the God "all knowing" already know what has happened, called out Adam. God the omniscient have complete or maximal knowledge of everything man does, which means nothing is done in heaven, on Earth, or beneath the Earth without His knowledge. What is that thing you think you are doing that is out of God's sight? You kill in secret, though man doesn't know. But you think God doesn't know too? The evils you perpetrate in your office, in business and even in

Tell others the goodness of God.

Mark  5:19 Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee. There was once a man of Gadarenes possessed with unclean spirit, a man whose home was tombs and graves, a man who has never had a good life for many years, but at the instance of meeting with Jesus, he was made whole and delivered of the unclean spirit. He desired to follow Jesus, to become his followers, to travel length and breath with Him, but Jesus suffered him not. Rather he was told to become witness of the goodness of God unto his people, telling them how great the Lord has done. Our salvation, deliverance and breakthrough in God is not to be kept secret, we are to expressively tell others how wonderful God has been towards us, in our jobs, career, business,  education and family etc Proclaiming the goodness of God in our life to others is a proof that Jesus truly saves  Most time our testimonies becom

Do not miss your flight

Matthew  24:44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. A good number of times we may miss one thing or the other, miss an appointment, miss a meal, miss a church service, miss an event, or even miss a graduation ceremony  Most of these  things we miss can actually be recovered or done again, though will cost us more time, and more expenses.  But what if you miss your flight to heaven?   Accepting Christ as our Lord and personal saviour is a guarantee of having the visa to heaven and our citizenship is documented.  When you get to the airport, even if you are a citizen of the country you are going, or have the valid visa to go there, your luggages must be checked and rechecked  It may take minutes or hours for the personnel in-charge to screen out your luggages, if anything  implicative is found in your luggage, you either be arrested or delayed for hours, but your flight will never wait for you.  So also when we shall get to the airport of

Excellency of our love to God

Romans  8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? There was once a young couple who just got married in a small town, their life style is an evidence of true love as man can say, they do things together, walk together, almost inseparable.  But some years latter, the husband got involved in an accident, and got his spinal chord broken, this subjected him to be on the wheelchair.   Not bothered by the predicament, the wife never stop loving and  caring for her beloved husband... As time goes on, she became weary, exhausted and tired of the stress of caring for her husband and herself... So she filed of a divorce.  Dear reader, what shall separate you from the love of christ?, what is the depth of your love for the God you claim to serve?  Apostle Paul highlighted some possible agents that can influence our divorce with God. Tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril or

Sin changes the cause of Destiny

Deuteronomy  28:15 But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee: Sin is an immoral act against a divine law, breaking of God's law, not doing biblical principles of good, doing what is against one's conscience and  doing unrighteousness  As much as sin breaks our relationship with God spiritually, it is also capable of changing the divine plan of God for us.  Many people God have planned to have a sweet, beautiful and happy journey of life suddenly begin to experience sorrow, bitterness, delay and unfavourable life because of one sin or the other.  Adam and Eve were created to live in the garden of Eden forever full of peace, joy and happiness encapsulated with God's presence, but the sin of disobedience  made them experience otherwise which brings death to mankind.  God promised the ho

You must be ever ready

Luke  12:35 Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning; The lesson from the verse of the bible is similar to the one given  by Jesus in the parable of the ten virgins, Jesus' emphasis is that the servants be ready through active service in kingdom business. One must be prepared for the master by maintaining service. Those who have a heart of service will always be watching for the Master. They are looking for the coming of the master because they are ever ready, longing and waiting for it. How ready are you daily for the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ?, Is your light still burning and shining till the coming of the Son of God? In the world where immoralities has taken over decency in the society  and even the church of God. In the world where comedians has taken over the sacred altar of God and has tarnished His name among the unbelievers In a world where the teaching of the kingdom is no more relevant and teaching of prosperity taken over all... Lies, deceit,

Salvation must cost you something.

Philippians  3:7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.  3:8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, Free gifts are gifts given without strings attached, not every commodity has a price tag, but terms and Conditions must be strictly adhered to. Salvation in christ was never and still not Free for man kind, though the fundamental knowledge of man says otherwise... It cost God his only son for we to be saved It cost Jesus Christ His life for we to be redeemed It cost the devil the  whole of his life to fight against it It cost the disciples their respective jobs, fame, personalities and comfort zones, persecution and even death for the message of salvation to reach you and I Apostle Paul was able to express  all salvation cost Him, It cost him his position, it cost him his profession as a

Spiritual, yet canal

Galatians  4:19 My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you, When you become a Christian you discover that part of you wants to walk "in newness of life" (Romans 6:4), while another part wants to walk "after the flesh" and you would, if it weren't for God's spirit who lives in your divided house and groans when you do certain things. Challenging you with God's word. The truth is, your new heart is still living in the old body. Becoming a new being in Christ doesn't not be you have mastered holiness, you need to grow, but sadly many attack carnality with person and not the sprit of God God doesn't want do-it-yourself righteousness. The Bible says "He which hath begun a good work in you will perform until the day of  Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6). God alone knows the process it will take for the Christ of saved you to be firmed in you, we each travel our own paths at our own pace, but our goal is the sam

Do you Know the God you serve?

Daniel  11:32 ... but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits. Many believers have not truly met God neither do they believe what he says... Many know God on the account of the testimonies of others Many receives the word of God, but for the word to make sense and become fruitful, the believer needs to have an encounter Not knowing God personally or having a divine encounter with God can be dangerous. There is a level of stability and confidence that comes to your life when you truly know God. The foundation of every believer's experience in life should be God, not just vision or purpose, not ambition, money or desire for success Jesus Christ came into this world to personified God in human flesh, that we may be able to comprehend, understand and come into the wisdom of God. We are not commanded  to just believe God through a prophet, pastor, teacher or anyone, who is fit to communicate the words of God, but we are commanded and given the grace to
