Godliness

Godliness

1 Timothy  4:8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

Jesus lives a selfless and sacrificial life while on Earth, His death brought life, His resurrection gave birth to our salvation.

Know Jesus is not enough, but living His life, walking His ways and doing His words is the prerequisite of ending well with Him.

For His death and resurrection to make meaning in our life, we need Godliness..

NO higher compliment can be paid to a Christian than to call him a godly person. He might be a conscientious parent, a zealous church worker, a dynamic spokesman for Christ, or a talented Christian leader; but none of these things matters if, at the same time, he is not a godly person.

godliness is no optional spiritual luxury for a few quaint Christians of a bygone era or for some group of super saints of today. It is both the privilege and duty of every Christian to pursue godliness, to train himself to be godly, to study diligently the practice of godliness.

We don't need any special talent or equipment. God has given to each one of us "everything we need for life and godliness" (2 Peter 1:3). The most ordinary Christian has all that he needs, and the most talented Christian must use those same means in the practice of godliness.

Godliness is a personal attitude toward God that results in actions that are pleasing to him.

Our godliness must be grounded in our fear of God, love of God and desire for God..  Without this, our celebration of the Risen Christ is in vain.

Check your life and make amends.   The time is now.

God bless you.
