The spirit of God

Joel  2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

Joel's prophecy speaks of a time when God's Spirit would be poured out abundantly on all people. This promise is not limited by  age, gender, and social status, it signifies a new era of divine intimacy and empowerment. It is a promise fulfilled at Pentecost and continues to be relevant for us today.

The Spirit of God is not limited to a select few. Joel emphasizes that "all flesh" will experience this outpouring. Sons and daughters, old and young, all are invited into this dynamic relationship with God. This inclusivity reflects God’s desire for a deep and personal relationship with every individual, regardless of their background.

When the Spirit of God is poured out, it brings transformation and empowerment. Sons and daughters will prophesy, speaking God's truth boldly. Old men will dream dreams, seeing God's plans and purposes. Young men will see visions, receiving divine guidance and inspiration. The Spirit equips us to live out our faith with power and conviction.

Joel highlights that the Spirit's outpouring brings a prophetic dimension to our lives. To prophesy, dream dreams, and see visions means to be in tune with God's voice and purposes. It calls us to listen attentively to the Spirit and to be willing vessels through whom God can speak and act in the world.

The Spirit of God brings renewal and transformation. It is through the Spirit that we are born again, made new creations in Christ. The Spirit empowers us to live holy lives, to bear the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. This transformation is not a one-time event but an ongoing process as we yield to the Spirit's work in us.

As believers, we are called to live in the Spirit. This means walking daily in the awareness of God's presence, seeking His guidance, and being open to His leading. It means allowing the Spirit to shape our thoughts, attitudes, and actions. It means being filled with the Spirit, continually seeking a deeper relationship with God.

In conclusion, Let us open our hearts to receive the fullness of God's Spirit, allowing Him to work in and through us to fulfill His purposes. May we prophesy, dream dreams, and see visions as we walk in the Spirit, living lives that glorify God and testify to His love and grace. Amen.

God bless you.
