Receiving the spirit of God

1 Corinthians  2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.  2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

When we accept Christ as our lord and personal savour, we receive a marvelous gift, the Spirit of God. This gift is not just a divine presence but a transformative power that enables us to understand the deep things of God.

Apostle Paul speaks of two types of spirits: the spirit of the world and the Spirit who is from God. The spirit of the world is marked by human wisdom, self-reliance, and material pursuits. It drives people to seek fulfillment in temporary, earthly things, which often lead to confusion, emptiness, and spiritual blindness.

On the other hand, the Spirit of God offers us divine wisdom, guiding us into all truth. This Spirit is not limited by human understanding but opens our eyes to the eternal realities of God's kingdom. Receiving the Spirit of God means we are no longer bound by the limitations and deceptions of worldly thinking. We are set free to explore and embrace the profound truths of our faith.

Apostle Paul states that we have received the Spirit so that we may understand what God has freely given us. This is crucial. God has lavished upon us His grace, mercy, and countless spiritual blessings. Yet, without the Spirit of God, we cannot fully comprehend or appreciate these gifts.

The Spirit illuminates our minds, helping us to grasp the depth of God's love, the significance of Christ's sacrifice, and the power of His resurrection. Through the Spirit, we understand that we are adopted as God's children, heirs to His promises, and participants in His divine nature.

As believers, we are called to speak and live out the truths we have received. Our testimony, our teaching, and our daily conduct should be infused with the wisdom and power of the Spirit. When we rely on the Spirit, our words carry a weight and authority that can touch hearts and change lives.

Receiving the Spirit of God has practical implications for our everyday lives. It means living with a constant awareness of God's presence and guidance. It involves seeking His wisdom in our decisions, relying on His strength in our challenges, and manifesting His love in our interactions with others.

We are called to cultivate a relationship with the Spirit through prayer, meditation on the Scriptures, and obedience to God's leading. The Spirit empowers us to overcome sin, to grow in Christlikeness, and to fulfill our God-given purpose.

In conclusion, as believers,  the Holy spirit is the only guide we can cleave to that will direct our paths towards the will of the Father. We must humble ourselves and and let the spirit of God take preeminence in our life.

God bless you.
