God's greatest love towards us

Romans  6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.  6:7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.  6:8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

Paul begins by reminding us that our old self, burdened with sin and imperfection, was crucified with Christ. This crucifixion signifies more than just a symbolic act; it represents the complete and utter defeat of sin's dominion over us. Our past, with all its flaws and failures, was nailed to the cross with Jesus.

This is the first testament to God's greatest love: He did not leave us in our broken state. He took the initiative to rescue us from the mire of sin by sending His Son to bear the weight of our transgressions. This act of love was not conditional or limited. It was a universal offering, available to all who would accept it.

In His love as have freedom from Slavery to Sin

"...so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin—because anyone who has died has been set free from sin."

In Christ, we find liberation from the chains of sin. Before accepting Christ, we were bound to sin, unable to break free from its grip. But through His death and resurrection, we have been set free. This freedom is not just an abstract concept; it is a lived reality for every believer.

God's greatest love is evident in His desire for us to live in freedom. He does not want us to be entangled in the snares of sin, guilt, and shame. Instead, He offers us a new life, unburdened and unshackled, where we can walk in the light of His grace and truth.

Also in His love, we receive the privilege of living with Christ

"Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him."

The totality of God's love is found in the promise of new life. Just as Christ was raised from the dead, we too are given the promise of resurrection and eternal life. This is not merely a future hope but a present reality. We live with Christ now, experiencing His presence, guidance, and power in our daily lives.

Living with Christ means embracing a new identity and purpose. We are no longer defined by our past mistakes but by our relationship with Jesus. This new life calls us to reflect God's love to others, to live in a way that honors Him, and to be agents of His kingdom here on earth.

In conclusion, God's greatest love is a love that took our old, sinful selves to the cross, liberated us from the bondage of sin, and gave us new life in Christ. This love is not distant or theoretical; it is personal, practical, and powerful.

As we continue our journey, let us remember that we are recipients of this incredible love. Let us live in the freedom and newness of life that Christ has given us. And let us share this message of hope and redemption with a world that desperately needs to know the depth and breadth of God's love.

God bless you.
