Our strength and shield
Psalms 28:7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.
In the verse above, we are reminded that the Lord is our strength. In times of weakness, uncertainty, or despair, we need not rely solely on our own abilities. Instead, we can draw upon the infinite strength of our Creator. When life's challenges seem insurmountable, when we feel drained and exhausted, we can turn to God, knowing that His strength is more than sufficient to sustain us.
Also, the Lord is our shield. In a world filled with dangers, both seen and unseen, we often find ourselves vulnerable and exposed. Yet, we need not fear, for God is our protector.
Like a shield that deflects arrows and blows, God surrounds us with His divine protection, shielding us from harm and keeping us safe from the attacks of the enemy.
Moreover, this verse speaks of trust. It declares, "My heart trusts in him." Trusting in God means surrendering our anxieties, doubts, and fears into His capable hands.
It means believing that He is faithful and true, even when circumstances may suggest otherwise. When we trust in God wholeheartedly, we find peace amidst the storms of life, knowing that He is in control and working all things together for our good.
And what is the result of trusting in the Lord, of finding our strength and shield in Him? Joy! The psalmist declares, "My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him."
When we recognize God's presence and provision in our lives, when we experience His strength and protection firsthand, our hearts overflow with joy and gratitude. We cannot help but lift our voices in praise and worship, for we know that God is worthy of all honor and glory.
In conclusion, Let us remember that the Lord is indeed our strength and shield. Some may trust in chariots, some in horses, but those who trust in the Lord are never disappointed. May we trust in Him with all our hearts, knowing that He will never fail us. And may our lives be filled with joy as we continually praise and exalt His holy name. Amen.
God bless you.
