Do you think your obedience is enough

Genesis  22:2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

Obedience to God is to hear, trust, submit and surrender to God and His word.
God created us and places us into this world, everything we would  ever be or become is perfectly known to Him, He knows our end from the begining so He give instructions that can chanel our lives towards a perfect ending and also for us to maintain an unbroken relationship with Him.

His instructions are given from time to time as we live our life, though these instructions may not be palatable to us, it may looks difficult to comprehend, but if we humbly accept them and act accordingly as He has directed, there are blessings that follow.

Today, many obey God and act accordingly to his instructions, but at a point, we assume our obedience to God is enough for God to bless us or keep us away from some certain  challenges.

We try to justify our commitment in time past, the sacrifices we have made and then question God whether he is actually God.
But the question is, is our obedience enough before God?

Abraham was regarded as a man of faith and a friend of God, he walked with God blindly and was blessed by it.. His life experience is enough to give us wisdom on how to live our life perfectly with God in terms of obedience.

He had believed God from his childhood and at a point God told him to leave his family, country to a place He will show him. Genesis  12:1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:

This was a very strange and unpleasant instruction any man would receive from someone you trust his judgement... He was to leave his home, family, friends and  colleagues, he was to leave his job, business, investment, customers and certificate to a place he has no idea... He was to leave all his inheritance he would have gotten from his father to a place that doesn't belong  to him yet... What an act of obedience.

A man who obeyed God at such level shouldn't be the one that will be  barren for many years... His obedience should have spoken out.... God should have had mercy on him..  He could have cried to God, Lord, see,  I have left all, what now shall be my gain... Just like the disciples cried to Jesus... Matthew  19:27 Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?

And eventually God gave him a son... A child of his old age, a child he had laboured and longed for to get, yet God still says, take that child and sacrifice him on an altar.. Genesis  22:2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

At this point, anyone would say God is a wicked being... Was Abraham’s obedience not enough that God would still request that he sacrifice the same child?...  It was not a joke, it was not a prank.. It was a real test of faith.. God didn't provide a lamb until the knife was on Isaac's neck...   Until after the test God affirms him to be a father of faith.. It was then his obedience becomes enough before God.

Do you think your obedience to God  is enough today?, have you not been querying God and listing all you have done in obeying His words because you face little challenges?

Obviously your highest level of obedience to God is another man's begining of obedience... You may loose your job in the cause of obeying God, yet many have lost their children...

It is only God that can approve that your obedience is enough and have reached the peak.

The disciples left all they have, homes, jobs, family and friends, yet almost none of them died a peaceful death, they were all martyred.

Moses' past obedience to God in leading the Israelite out of Egypt to the desert of Zin in Kadesh where he struck the rock was not enough to save him from gods anger. To man, he shouldn't be the one that will not reach the promise land.

If God is asking you to bey Him, or you face some challenges in your life, do not justify your previous obedience, obeying God fully is the key to enjoying God's full blessings..

Your obedience can never be enough... You keep obeying till you die.

God bless you.
