Moving Forward
Exodus 14:14 The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. 14:15 And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward: 14:16 But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.
In the passage above, we witness the Israelites standing at the edge of the Red Sea, feeling trapped and surrounded by uncertainty. Yet, in the midst of their fear, God speaks these words of assurance through Moses.
In our lives, we often find ourselves at our own imaginary Red Seas, facing challenges, uncertainties, and obstacles that seem insurmountable. It is in these moments that we must remember the call to be still and trust in the Lord. The stillness is not an idleness but a deliberate surrender of our fears and anxieties to God.
God's promise in verse 14 serves as a foundation for moving forward – "The Lord will fight for you." As we navigate through the complexities of life, let us not forget that we are not alone. Our faith calls us to trust in the Almighty, who is not only present with us but actively working on our behalf. In times of doubt, let us turn to prayer, seeking God's guidance and strength to move forward.
God instructs Moses to lift his staff and stretch out his hand over the sea, and the Lord opens a way through the waters. This powerful miracle reminds us that our obedience and faithfulness play a role in the miraculous work of God. Moving forward requires action – stepping out in faith, even when the path ahead appears uncertain.
As a community of believers, let us encourage one another to lift our own "staffs" – to extend our hands in acts of kindness, love, and service. In doing so, we participate in the unfolding of God's plan for our lives and for the world.
Finally, in verse 16 God instructs the Israelites to "go forward." The call to move forward is a call to embrace the journey, acknowledging that God is leading us to new horizons. It may not always be easy, but with God's guidance, we can step into the unknown with confidence.
Sometimes when God ask us to live forward, there may be no way before us, there may be obstacles or a wall that seems there is no way at all just like the read sea and the wall of Jericho, but if we can exercise our faith like moses, then we will experience miracle beyond our expectation.
In conclusion, let us be still in our trust and faith in God, lift our staffs in obedient action, and courageously move forward as a community. In doing so, we align ourselves with the divine purpose, knowing that the Lord is fighting for us, and our journey forward is guided by His unwavering love and grace.
God bless you.
