God Remembers.

Genesis  8:1 And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged;

 In our journey through life, we often encounter moments of despair, uncertainty, and feeling forgotten. But the scripture assures us that our God is not a distant or forgetful. He remembers. He is mindful of His promises and His people and He will never abandoned us no matter what.

In Genesis 8:1 we read that “But God remembered Noah.” This verse comes after the great flood, a time of immense devastation and uncertainty. Noah and his family were in the ark for many months, surrounded by endless waters, perhaps wondering if they would ever see dry land again. Yet, it is in this moment of prolonged waiting and seeming abandonment that the Bible declares, "God remembered Noah."

When we face our personal storms—be it loss, illness, or trials—we might feel abandoned. The story of Noah reminds us that even when it seems like we are forsaken and forgotten, God is always mindful of us. He remembers us in our trials and has a plan for our deliverance.

The phrase “God remembered” is not implying that God had ever forgotten Noah. God’s remembrance is tied to His covenant and promises. In Noah’s case, God had promised to save Noah and his family from the flood. His remembrance signifies His faithfulness to His word.

In our own lives, we hold onto the promises of God—promises of peace, provision, and eternal life. When we read that God remembers, we are reassured of His unwavering commitment to fulfill His promises to us. As it says in 2 Corinthians 1:20, “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are ‘Yes’ in Christ.”

God's remembrance leads to action. In Genesis 8:1, God remembered Noah and “sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded.” This is an active intervention. God moves on behalf of those He remembers.

When God remembers, He acts. He parts the waters, He breaks the chains, and He provides a way where there seems to be no way. His remembrance is coupled with His power to change our circumstances and guide us to safety.

Knowing that God remembers us should evoke a response of faith and obedience. Noah built the ark as an act of faith and obedience to God’s instructions. Even when the fulfillment of God’s promise seemed delayed, Noah remained faithful. Similarly, we are called to trust in God’s timing and remain steadfast in our faith.

Our response to God’s remembrance should also be one of gratitude. Recognizing His faithfulness in our past encourages us to trust Him with our future. Let us be a people who remember God’s faithfulness and proclaim His goodness.

In conclusion, God never fails in fulfilling His promises but our attitude can defer Him from remembering us. As we navigate through life’s challenges, let us hold fast to the truth that God has not forgotten us. He remembers each of us, He remembers His promises, and He will act in His perfect timing.

God bless you.
