Relying on the power of God

1 Samuel  17:45 Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.  17:46 This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.  ( 1samuel 17 v 41-46, 49)

When faced with daunting challenges, we often feel inadequate, just like David did when he stood before Goliath. But let us remember that our weaknesses are an opportunity for God's strength to shine through. Our reliance on God's power begins with acknowledging our limitations and placing our trust in His sovereignty.

David refused to wear Saul's armor, realizing that it wouldn't help him defeat Goliath. In the same way, we must refrain from relying on worldly solutions and instead put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:11-13), which includes faith, righteousness, and the truth of His Word.

David's identity was rooted in God, not in his physical appearance or stature. We must find our identity in Christ, knowing that we are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). With this assurance, we can face our giants with confidence, knowing that God is with us.

He  boldly declared that the battle was the Lord's and that He would deliver Goliath into his hands. Likewise, we must vocalize our faith in God's power, not only to others but also to ourselves. Let us speak His promises and stand firm in His truth.

Nevertheless, David didn't hesitate; he ran toward the battle line to face Goliath. Our reliance on God's power is not passive but active. As we step out in faith, God's strength is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).

As the stone from David's sling struck Goliath, we see how God's power brought down the seemingly unconquerable. When we trust in the Lord, He will lead us to triumph over our giants, revealing His glory and might in the process.

We should be reminded that no matter how insurmountable our problems may seem, our God is greater. Just as He empowered David to defeat Goliath, He will equip us to overcome our challenges. So, let us rely on the power of God, standing firm in faith, and trusting that He will guide us through every trial and tribulation.

It is in His power you can win all challenges both physically and spiritually.

God bless you.
