The danger of living a patched up life

2 Peter 2:20 And when a person has escaped from the wicked ways of the world by learning about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and then gets tangled up with sin and becomes its slave again, he is worse off than he was before. (LVB) Living a patched up life is trying to live a double standard life, trying to merge two different things together in a bid to have a ballance. The salvation God gave through His son Jesus Christ by dying on the cross does not give us a patched up life whereby we still have the consciousness of the old nature or still fulfill its desire while we still claim to be with God. He gave us a new nature, a brand new life and not a patched up life with the desires of sin, lust of the flesh and the works of the devil 2 Corinthians  5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.  You can't be in Christ and still live in the old nature of flesh and  carnality And when a per...

Don't be an Ingrate

Luke  17:18 There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. An ingrate is an ungrateful person, someone who fails to appreciate what was done to him/her,  Many of us are ingrate before God today, we fail to acknowledge the sovereignty of God's power and grace upon our lives.  On serval cases we put on attitude when looking for breakthrough in God, we promise heaven and earth just to get God's attention, and when God answers we turn our back against Him Consider the ten lepers who sort for help from God.  Luke  17:11 And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.  17:12 And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:  17:13 And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. These were leapers who has heard about the goodness of God in Christ Jesus, that He is a miracle worker, they know He i...

A bold step of faith

2 Timothy  1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.  Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen, whoever that will walk perfectly with God must be ready to exercise faith in Him   Becoming a follower of Christ and serving God diligently doesn't mean everything will go as we planned it, or the instructions He will give will always tally with our common knowledge. Most of His instructions and steps to be taken sometimes will look foolish to man, and unreasonable  to our Understanding  But if you must achieve the best in God, you must be ready to take a bold step of faith that is contrary to the opinion and intellectual Understanding of man, taking a bold step of faith is foolishness in reality but the end is always miracle.  Let us consider the life of David before Goliahat  1 Samuel  17:32 And David said to Saul, Let no man's heart fail because of him; th...

Don't be Distracted

2 Timothy 2:4 No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier. Becoming a follower of Christ through salvation makes us become one of the most wanted person by the devil, our identification with Christ has raised an alarm in the kingdom of hell, and the devil will definitely swing to action in other to get us away from the Lord God.  He cannot take us by force from God, because  he has no power to do so, being that we have become a new being, having a new nature of righteousness in christ, contrary to the nature of sin he has power over.  In a bid to win us over to himself and displace our place in God, he places distractions along our path, by which if we give attention to it, our mind and soul will be captured by it and we will fall into the trap he has placed before us.  He will first capture our attention, Understand our movement and engages our mind in a conversation, he did with Eve...

Consequences of Backbiting

Psalms 101:5 Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, Him I will destroy; The one who has a haughty look and a proud heart, Him I will not endure. Backbiting is to say mean or spiteful things about a person, such as someone who is not present, it is speaking negatively about a person to another in other to attack their character, reputation or integrity.  Often time we are always quick to judge the sin of fornication, adultery, lies, murder and stealing, but put little concern about backbiting, whereas the sin of backbiting can send one to hell just as others can  The results of backbiting are horrendous: it brings Division, strife, suspicion, hatred, and enmity among brethren, this is the works of the devil.  Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, Him I will destroy; The one who has a haughty look and a proud heart, Him I will not endure. (Psalm 101:5) ,  this is the judgment of God on anyone who backbite another, God will not spare those who speaks evil against ano...
