Except a man is born again
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
In this passage, Nicodemus, a Pharisee and a member of the Jewish ruling council, approaches Jesus at night, seeking to understand the nature of the kingdom of God. Jesus responds with a statement that challenges our very understanding of salvation. Being born again.
To be "born again" is not a physical rebirth but a spiritual one. It signifies a profound change in the human heart and soul, initiated by faith in Christ. This spiritual birth is essential for our salvation, for without it, we cannot enter the kingdom of God.
The rebirth Jesus speaks of is not something we can achieve through our own efforts or merits. It is a divine work of the Holy Spirit, transforming our hearts and renewing our minds. It is a cleansing of the old and a birthing of the new, much like a caterpillar becoming a butterfly.
To be born again requires repentance... a turning away from our old ways and a turning towards God. It is a conscious choice to surrender to the grace of God, acknowledging our need for His forgiveness and guidance.
When we are born again, we become new creations in Christ Jesus. Our old sinful nature is replaced by a desire to live in accordance with God's will. We are filled with the fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
The process of being born again is ongoing. It involves continuous growth in faith, prayer, and understanding of God's Word. It empowers us to face life's challenges with hope and courage, knowing that we are children of the Most High.
The kingdom of God is the final abode of every believer in Christ, it is a place of rest, peach joy and everlasting happiness. Many aspire for this but will not get there. There may be many doors that open a house, but to enter the kingdom of God, only to be born again in Christ is the key.
Your charity, payment of titles and offerings, contributing to church projects and engaging in many services in the house of God cannot guarantee you becoming kingdom citizen, you just first be born again.
In conclusion, through faith in Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit, we can experience a spiritual rebirth that brings us into the eternal kingdom of God. Let us embrace this truth, repent, and allow God to transform our lives. May we be born again in spirit and truth, living as faithful disciples of Jesus Christ. Amen.
God bless you.
